Trip Overview

The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is a 4 to 5 day hike in the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal. This is the most picturesque short trek in Nepal and this trek offers you incredible mountain scenery that will leave you breathless. It takes a moderate level of fitness to complete, and the max elevation is 3,210 meters. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is also known as Annapurna Sunrise Trekking which is one of the most popular and relatively easy treks that wander through the beautiful ethnic villages of Annapurna Region.

After a bus ride or twenty five minutes flight from Kathmandu and 200 km west of Kathmandu is the beautiful city of Pokhara which is the main-gate way to the Ghorepani Poon hill trek. This place is rich of hidden treasure of Nepalese culture and tradition. During the trek you can capture some of the best snaps of imposing Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. You will experience sunrise at Poon Hill, with breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks of the Annapurna Sanctuary, including Gangapurna, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Hiunchuli.  The remarkable sunrise from Poon Hill is just not missable. Poon Hill Trekking will also let you witness terraced slopes, warm villages, beautiful paddy fields, and wonderful culture and lifestyle of ethnic people such as Gurungs and Magars. The trek to Ghorepnai Poon Hill passes through world’s famous ‘the Gorkha warrior’ clan the Gurung and Magar’s charming village.

Hiking in the serene mountains is truly a blessing and it is made even better with the presence of the Himalaya. This trek goes from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani, Poon hill, then to Tadapani and Ghandruk or Jhinu then back to Nayapul where we drive back to Pokhara. You can bring your personal clothing if you already have them with you,if not it’s worth buying all below mentioned clothing and equipments here in Kathmandu in good rates and your guide will help you with it.You will have plenty of time before the trek to buy stuffs in Kathmandu(thamel).
